Barbies for Sale - Again

Photo

I thought this was a pretty ingenious idea from Lexi. She packaged a doll and dress in cut up tissue and shoe boxes and wrapped it in plastic wrap to make it look like it was for sale. They lined them up on my bookcase and priced them, pretty close to actual price, nonetheless. Possibilities are endless. Well, as endless as your supply of boxes. Have fun!

Barbie Organization

I super duper wish I could recall what blog I found this on. This is
one of the best organizational tips I've ever read. Get a regular shoe
organizer for a door and use it for Barbies! It's like a Barbie condo
and each Barbie gets a home. Or, in our case, they get to share a
home! The best thing is once they run out of room, they have to get
rid of enough to make them fit! Win all around!

I used to have everything piled in the big bucket but it was terrible
trying to dig through it all to find anything. After organizing the
Barbies, I moved the clothes and shoes into bags of their own. What's
left is just the house sets they use when they play. Love it!

Picture Wall

A while back I posted pictures of these frames I got for our hall. Well, it's been nearly a year but I finally finished the last two. I had so much fun picking the pictures out with the girls and sharing all the stories behind them. I love walking down the hall and catching glimpses of favorite moments!

Desperate

Photo

I laughed when I took a good look at this plant in our kitchen the other day. Emma got it from her teacher at the end of school and I just hadn't paid attention to the fact that it was growing. It doesn't happen much at our house. So when I saw it pressed up against the window I thought, "Geez, I know plants grow towards the light but that looks a little desperate."

But then I realized I've looked a lot like this plant lately. Head leaned on the window, searching for the Light, the Source. Desperate to grow.

Daily Peek

Speaking of growing up...thought I'd catch Lexi in some everyday shots just to remember...

Love how she crosses her legs. She loves to be quiet and watch out the window when Emma isn't in the van.

I haven't done a post on couponing in quite some time but be rest assured I hit CVS up weekly. And like today, Harris Teeter. It's super double coupons this week and I can't tell you the joy I got from the look on the cashier's face when my total went from $60 to $3.84.

I'm sporting ghetto nails today. Actually it's an adventure trying to type this on my phone. I bought these at the dollar store for the girls' Christmas stockings and thought they had stickers. They didn't. I glued Emmas on today. I started to put Lexi's on and she decided she didn't like them. In a genius moment I thought I'd put them on just to mess around. Well here we are 8 hrs later and I still have them. It feels like my entire nailbed might rip out of my thumb when I try to remove them so they all stay. In fact, I glued back on two that had fallen off just so I didn't look any more ghetto than I do. It was all for naught though since I lost a pinky nail whilst couponing.

Dollar store ghetto nails and free food. Yep, that was my day.

Couch to 5k iPhone app

So you know I will take any opportunity to get a new iPhone app. And you know I just started this Couch to 5k program and what do you know they have an app for that!

It has all the workouts in a list so you don't have to remember where you are in the program or actually you know print it out and keep track.

Image

So once you pick your workout you are able to load your playlist into the music player at the bottom. Once you start it keeps track of where you are which can be quite difficult to do. It has a VoiceOver that tells you when to walk and run. The font turns red during walks, green during runs and yellow at warmup and cooldown. I love the countdown as well. And it tells you when you're halfway through.

Photo

Couch to 5k does have a few free podcasts you can follow but I love the advantage of changing up the music at any point. If you don't care about what you run to then i wouldn't spend the $2.99 for this app but for me, I get a new app, freedom to pick the music I want AND the ability to send my results to facebook. Ok so probably not worth it for that but you know.

So as you can see I'm on day 2. Not that impressive yet but I have to start somewhere and I'm happy to have this to help.

Cowboy Boots -The Result

So I did it. I love them. I also got a cute dress that I can wear with jeans or tights during the winter. And you simply can not beat $50 for boots. Yeah they'll probably fall apart by spring but so will my decision to wear them as well.

Yes, there are dirty towels on my floor and coloring pages on my door. Yee haw.
